Microneedling and Morpheus8

Microneedling & Morpheus8

Breathe. Relax. Let go. Microneedling triggers your body’s collagen response. Controlled micro-injuries, real remodeling, no chemicals required. Traditional microneedling handles texture, fine lines, and scarring. Morpheus8 adds radiofrequency energy to reach deeper and tighten skin in the same session.

Microneedling — clinically called collagen induction therapy — uses a precision device to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin. Each tiny injury triggers a wound-healing cascade: new collagen, new elastin, real structural remodeling over the following weeks and months. It’s one of the most effective tools in modern skin resurfacing because it works with your biology, not against it.

Morpheus8 takes that mechanism and stacks radiofrequency energy on top. Same micro-channels, plus controlled thermal energy delivered into the deeper layers — meaning you get the collagen response and skin tightening in one treatment. Pristine offers traditional microneedling now, and Morpheus8 is being added as the next-tier upgrade for clients who want deeper remodeling and lifting effect.

What Makes Pristine Microneedling Different

Med spa, not retail spa.

Performed by licensed medical professionals — not estheticians using cosmetic-grade rollers.

Double board-certified cosmetic surgeon oversight.

Protocols, depth, and treatment plans run under real medical supervision — not a remote medical director who never sees your file.

Medical-grade devices.

Adjustable depth, sterile single-use cartridges, FDA-cleared equipment.

Two tiers — traditional and Morpheus8.

We match the device to the goal. Texture and fine lines? Traditional often wins on cost. Skin laxity, deep scarring, jawline tightening? Morpheus8.

Real consultations.

If your barrier is compromised, you’re on Accutane, or you’ve got an active flare, we reschedule. Honest is faster than corrective.

How Microneedling Works

A handheld pen with sterile micro-needles oscillates at high speed across the treatment area. Needle depth is adjustable — typically 0.5mm to 2.5mm depending on the area and goal. Each pass creates thousands of micro-channels. The skin doesn’t recognize “cosmetic intent” — it reads injury and triggers repair: new collagen, new elastin, increased blood flow, accelerated cell turnover. Results build over 4–12 weeks as remodeling completes.

If you’re under 40 and chasing texture or early lines: traditional microneedling is usually the right tool. If you’re 40+ and feeling laxity, or you’re tackling stubborn scarring or sub-mental tightening: Morpheus8 earns its price.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

  1. Intake and skin analysis. Goals, history, medications, recent procedures, sun exposure.
  2. Cleanse and topical numbing. Numbing cream sits 20–30 minutes — this is the longest part of the visit.
  3. Treatment. Device passes across the area in a methodical pattern. Depth adjusted by zone — deeper on cheeks and chin, shallower around eyes. With Morpheus8, you’ll feel warmth from the RF energy.
  4. Optional add-ons. PRP, hyaluronic acid, or growth factor serums applied during or after — penetration is dramatically enhanced through the micro-channels.
  5. Soothing serum, SPF, aftercare instructions. You leave with everything you need for healing.
  6. Series scheduling. We map out the full plan so you’re not guessing.

Total appointment: 60–90 minutes including numbing.

Pre-Treatment Prep

  • Stop retinol/tretinoin 5–7 days before
  • No waxing, threading, or laser hair removal on the area for 1 week
  • No active acne treatments (benzoyl peroxide, salicylic) for 3–5 days
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks pre-treatment
  • Tell us about cold sore history — pre-treatment with antivirals if needed
  • Hold off on facials, peels, or dermaplaning for 2 weeks before
  • No blood thinners or NSAIDs 48 hours before (clear with your doctor first if prescribed)
  • Show up with clean skin, no makeup

Post-Treatment Care

First 24 Hours

  • No washing the area for the timeframe we specify
  • No sweating, workouts, sauna, or hot showers
  • No makeup
  • Skin will feel warm, look pink/red — like a mild sunburn

Days 2–5

  • Gentle cleanser only
  • Bland moisturizer (we send you home with what to use)
  • SPF 30+ every morning, reapply through the day
  • Skin may feel rough or sandpaper-like as healing completes — normal
  • No actives (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C) until cleared
  • No swimming pools, hot tubs, or saunas

Weeks 1–4

  • Reintroduce actives slowly under our guidance
  • Continue daily SPF — non-negotiable
  • Avoid extended direct sun
  • Schedule next session if running a series (typically 4–6 weeks apart)

Morpheus8 specifically: add 1–2 days to each timeline above. Mild swelling for 24–48 hours is normal.

Who’s a Candidate — and Who Isn’t

Good Candidates

  • Healthy skin barrier
  • Realistic expectations on timeline (results build over weeks)
  • Willing to commit to sun protection and a series if needed
  • Off Accutane for at least 6 months
  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding

Not a Candidate Right Now

  • Active Accutane use or within 6 months of finishing
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Active acne flare with cystic lesions in the treatment area
  • Active cold sore outbreak
  • Open wounds, eczema flare, or active dermatitis on the area
  • Recent sunburn or tan
  • History of keloid scarring

Our licensed estheticians are trained at Pristine Beauty Academy, our own accredited school offering esthetics, laser, and nail licensing programs in the Central Florida area. Pristine Beauty Academy

Microneedling and Morpheus8 are medical procedures performed exclusively by licensed medical professionals — physician assistants, registered nurses, or physicians holding active Florida medical credentials. While Pristine Beauty Academy, our accredited esthetics, laser, and nail school, trains many of the licensed professionals across our locations, medical microneedling sits outside esthetics scope of practice. Cosmetic-grade dermal rolling is not the same procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Traditional microneedling creates micro-channels mechanically — that’s it. Morpheus8 adds radiofrequency energy through those channels, which delivers thermal effect into deeper tissue. You get collagen induction and skin tightening. Different price, different result tier.

With topical numbing, traditional microneedling is mild discomfort — vibration and pressure more than pain. Morpheus8 is more intense (warmth from RF), but still tolerable with numbing.

Initial glow within a week. Real collagen remodeling shows at 4–6 weeks. Full results from a series complete around 3 months after the last session.

Traditional: typically 3–6 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart. Morpheus8: typically 1–3 sessions depending on goal. We map it at consultation.

Yes — that’s actually one of its advantages. Radiofrequency targets water in tissue, not melanin, which makes it safer across Fitzpatrick types than many laser treatments.

Yes — but plan ahead. Last session at least 4–6 weeks before the event so collagen remodeling shows and any redness is gone.

Yes. PRP (platelet-rich plasma) drawn from your own blood gets applied during or after the treatment. Penetrates through the micro-channels. We discuss whether it adds value for your specific case.

Different mechanisms. Lasers use light energy (some target pigment, some target water, some are ablative). Microneedling is mechanical. Morpheus8 bridges the gap with RF energy. Choice depends on your skin, your goal, and your tolerance for downtime.

Yes, with discipline. SPF 30+ daily, no direct sun for 2 weeks post-treatment, hat and shade.

Yes — stretch marks respond well to microneedling, especially newer (still pink/red) ones. Older silver stretch marks improve more modestly. Body microneedling and Morpheus8 Body are options.

Rolling and boxcar scars respond well. Ice pick scars are harder and may need TCA cross or other targeted approaches. Morpheus8 reaches deeper for stubborn scarring.

Accutane (isotretinoin) thins skin and impairs healing. Microneedling on Accutane skin can cause scarring and prolonged inflammation. Industry standard is 6 months off before resurfacing.

Traditional: usually next day. Morpheus8: 48 hours. We confirm based on how your skin responds.

The collagen you build is yours — but aging continues. Most clients do annual maintenance treatments to compound results over time.

Traditional microneedling is the more accessible option. Morpheus8 is a bigger investment that reflects the technology and the result. We quote at consultation and Cherry/CareCredit handle packages.

At-home rollers (under 0.5mm) are cosmetic — they don’t reach the depth needed for real collagen induction, and improper hygiene risks infection. They’re not equivalent to medical microneedling.
