Brazilian Waxing

Brazilian Waxing

Breathe. Relax. Let go. Clean, precise, discreet. Hard wax only. Licensed estheticians. Private rooms. No double-dipping. The Brazilian wax you’ll actually rebook for — performed by professionals who do this all day, every day.

A Brazilian wax at Pristine is done the way it should be: premium hard wax designed for intimate skin, a licensed esthetician trained specifically on Brazilian technique, a private and discreet treatment room, fresh wooden spatulas with every strip (no double-dipping, ever), and a start-to-finish experience that’s faster, cleaner, and more comfortable than most clients expect. Whether it’s your first Brazilian or your hundredth, the protocol is the same — consistency, comfort, and technique that respects your skin. Our Brazilian wax clients rebook every 3–4 weeks, and we see the same faces month after month because we got the fundamentals right: professional, judgment-free, and done correctly.

What Makes Pristine Brazilian Waxing Different

Hard wax only.

Brazilian waxing should never use soft wax. Hard wax shrink-wraps around each hair, pulls the hair only (not the skin), and is designed specifically for sensitive intimate areas. Soft wax pulls skin — and on intimate areas, that’s painful, damaging, and unnecessary. If a spa uses soft wax for Brazilians, walk out. We only use premium hard wax.

No double-dipping. Ever.

Every strip uses a fresh wooden spatula. No applicator goes back into the wax pot after touching skin. This is basic hygiene that is genuinely, actually, still violated at half the waxing places in the country. We don’t.

Licensed estheticians trained specifically on Brazilians.

Brazilian waxing is a specialized skill. Every Pristine esthetician performing Brazilians is Florida-licensed AND has received specific Brazilian waxing training beyond general esthetics curriculum. Many trained at Pristine Beauty Academy, our own accredited school, where Brazilian technique is a dedicated module.

Private, discreet treatment rooms.

Every Brazilian at Pristine happens in a fully private, fully enclosed treatment room. Door closed. No thin walls, no curtained-off bays, no shared space. This is basic dignity that you’d think is universal — it isn’t.

Same esthetician every time (if you want).

Most clients prefer the same esthetician consistently — she knows your skin, your hair pattern, your preferences, and your sensitivities. Pristine honors requests for the same esthetician at rebook.

Judgment-free, professional environment.

We don’t care what you look like before, what you haven’t done in however long, what’s happening in your life, or what you’re waxing for. We’ve seen everything. No comments, no questions, no weirdness. You’re a client, you’re getting a professional service, and we treat it that way.

Aftercare protocols that actually work.

Post-wax care determines whether you get ingrowns, irritation, or perfect skin. We send you home with specific instructions, the right products to use (exfoliant, ingrown serum), and the confidence to know what to do between appointments.

First-time Brazilian clients get extra time.

Your first Brazilian is scheduled with additional buffer for consultation, proper technique explanation, and a comfortable pace. Nobody rushes your first one.

What Is a Brazilian Wax?

A Brazilian wax removes all or nearly all hair from the pubic area — front, back, and everything in between. The standard full Brazilian removes all hair. Variations (landing strip, triangle, French) leave a small styled patch at the front. Your esthetician asks at consultation what you want, and tailors accordingly.

Brazilian waxing is performed using hard wax — a high-grade wax specifically formulated for intimate skin. The wax is applied in sections, allowed to harden for 30–60 seconds, then removed by hand in one quick pull. The hair comes out at the root. No razor burn, no stubble, no ingrown-prone regrowth.

Results last 3–4 weeks depending on your hair growth cycle. Hair grows back softer and finer with consistent waxing over 6–12 months — noticeable results after 3–4 consistent appointments.

Styles We Offer

Full Brazilian

All hair removed from front, sides, labia, and back. Our most-requested style.

French (or Landing Strip)

All hair removed except a small vertical strip at the front. Clean back, minimal front.

Triangle

All hair removed except a small triangle at the front. Slightly wider than French.

Bikini

Hair removed only from the bikini line (where a bathing suit would sit). Does NOT include labia, back, or between. Less comprehensive than Brazilian.

Extended Bikini

Between bikini and Brazilian. Removes hair from the bikini line and partial labia but typically leaves the back untouched.

Your esthetician will confirm exactly what you want at the start of every appointment. You can change styles between appointments — some clients rotate based on season, lifestyle, or mood.

Your First Brazilian — What to Know

If this is your first Brazilian, read this section carefully.

  1. 1.Hair length matters. You need at least 1/4 inch of hair (about 2 weeks of growth after shaving) for wax to grip properly. If you shave, stop 2–3 weeks before your first Brazilian. Showing up too short means we can’t effectively wax — you’ll lose time and may reschedule.
  2. 2.Yes, it hurts. No, it’s not unbearable. First Brazilians are the most uncomfortable. Your hair follicles are strong, your pain threshold is new to this, and your mental anticipation is running high. Most first-time clients rate the pain 6–7 out of 10 on the first pull, dropping to 3–4 by the end of the session as your body adjusts. By your third Brazilian, most clients describe it as uncomfortable but genuinely manageable.
  3. 3.Take an OTC pain reliever 30–45 minutes before. Ibuprofen (400mg) or acetaminophen (500mg) taken 30–45 minutes before your appointment noticeably reduces discomfort. Never take aspirin — it thins blood and increases bruising/irritation.
  4. 4.Don’t book during your period or 3–5 days before. Skin sensitivity is significantly higher. Book during your cycle’s mid-portion (day 10–20 for most cycles).
  5. 5.Come in clean. Shower before. Use mild, unfragranced soap. Do not apply lotion, oil, or deodorant to the area.
  6. 6.Wear loose clothing. Tight pants or underwear immediately after can cause irritation. Loose dress, leggings, or loose pants for the drive home.
  7. 7.You don’t have to talk. Or you can. Some first-timers nervous-chat through the whole appointment. Others are silent. Either is totally fine. Your esthetician will follow your lead.
  8. 8.Breathe through the pulls. Deep breath in as wax is applied, exhale sharply as it’s pulled. This both reduces pain perception and helps your muscles relax.
  9. 9.Redness and irritation for 24–48 hours is normal. First Brazilians cause more skin response than subsequent ones. Follow aftercare, and it resolves.
  10. 10.Your hair will grow back softer. By your third consistent Brazilian, you’ll notice the hair coming in finer, slower, and more easily removed. Regrowth also becomes less prone to ingrowns.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

Arrival + quick check-in.

Your esthetician greets you, reviews your intake, and confirms the style (Brazilian, French, etc.). First-time clients get extended consultation.

Privacy for changing.

You remove clothing from the waist down. A sheet or paper drape is provided if you prefer.

Positioning.

You lie on your back, bend your knees, let them fall open. Your esthetician guides positioning throughout.

Skin prep.

The area is cleaned with an antiseptic wipe and dusted with pre-wax powder (prevents wax from sticking to skin).

Wax application + removal.

Hard wax is applied in small strips, allowed to harden 30–60 seconds, then pulled by hand in one quick motion. Your esthetician works systematically — typically mons first, then sides, then labia, then back.

Positioning shifts.

You’ll be asked to shift positions (hold your leg, roll to one side) for access to all areas. Your esthetician directs you clearly throughout — no guessing.

Tweezing of strays.

Any hairs too short for wax are tweezed at the end.

Post-wax care.

Aftercare serum applied to soothe the skin. Any wax residue is removed with oil.

You’re done. Total time: 20–30 minutes for experienced clients, 30–45 minutes for first-timers.

Pre-Appointment Prep

  • Grow hair to at least 1/4 inch (stop shaving 2–3 weeks before)
  • Exfoliate gently 24–48 hours before to prevent ingrowns
  • Skip retinoids and strong actives in the area for 5 days before
  • No self-tanner in the area for 1 week before (wax lifts the tan)
  • No recent chemical peels or laser treatments in the area
  • Avoid heavy exfoliation day-of (skin needs to not be inflamed)
  • Shower before with mild unfragranced soap
  • Do not apply lotion or oil to the area day-of
  • Take 400mg ibuprofen 30–45 min before (unless contraindicated)
  • Eat a small meal 1–2 hours before — don’t come in on an empty stomach
  • Time with your cycle — avoid the 5 days before your period if possible
  • Wear loose clothing and loose underwear for the drive home

Post-Appointment Care

First 24 hours:

  • No tight clothing
  • No sex or intimate activity
  • No gym, sweat, hot showers, saunas, hot tubs, or swimming
  • No exfoliation of the waxed area
  • No perfumed products or fragrances on the skin
  • Wear loose cotton underwear
  • Cool compresses if irritation is significant
  • Apply the post-wax soothing serum we provide

Days 2–7:

  • Gentle exfoliation starts (day 3) with a soft washcloth or gentle body scrub
  • Use an ingrown hair prevention product (PFB Vanish, Tend Skin, or similar) daily
  • Avoid tight athletic wear
  • SPF if exposed to sun

Ongoing (between appointments):

  • Exfoliate 2–3 times per week — this is the #1 way to prevent ingrowns
  • Use ingrown hair serum regularly
  • Moisturize the area with fragrance-free lotion
  • Don’t shave between appointments — defeats the entire purpose and creates stubble
  • Rebook every 3–4 weeks for consistent results

Who Is (and Isn’t) a Good Candidate

Good candidates

  • Healthy adults 18+ (16–17 with parental consent)
  • Hair at appropriate length (1/4 inch or longer)
  • Clients committed to consistent appointments (every 3–4 weeks)
  • Clients with normal skin or moderate sensitivity

Not candidates (or must wait)

  • Accutane (oral isotretinoin) within the past 6 months
  • Topical retinoids in the area — stop 5–7 days before
  • Active skin conditions in the area (eczema, dermatitis, infections, warts)
  • Recent chemical peels or laser resurfacing (wait 2+ weeks)
  • Pregnancy after 38 weeks (comfort limits)
  • Clients with extreme skin sensitivity (discuss at consultation)
  • Clients with sunburn in the area (wait until fully healed)
  • Post-surgical clients in the area (wait for clearance)
  • Clients on blood thinners without physician approval
  • Clients with specific autoimmune conditions affecting skin (discuss with physician)

Pregnancy specifically: Brazilian waxing is generally safe throughout pregnancy. First and second trimester are usually fine. Third trimester may require positioning accommodations; after 38 weeks, comfort becomes the limiting factor.

Brazilian Waxing vs. Brazilian Laser Hair Removal

Different services, sometimes the same clients:

Brazilian Waxing

Single-appointment service, results last 3–4 weeks, hair grows back (softer over time), requires ongoing maintenance. More affordable per session, higher lifetime cost.

Brazilian Laser Hair Removal

Multi-session series (6–10 treatments spaced 4–8 weeks apart) over 6–12 months. Permanent reduction of 70–90% of hair. Higher upfront cost, lower lifetime cost. Requires different skin tone and hair color considerations.

Many clients use both: laser for permanent reduction, waxing for maintenance on remaining hair. Others stick with waxing exclusively — lower commitment, full control, no long-term planning required.

If you want permanent reduction, ask about our laser hair removal services. If you prefer non-permanent flexibility, Brazilian waxing is perfect.
